Groningen introduces OG Clean Fuels as the new main sponsor
FC Groningen has tied up a new major sponsor with OG Clean Fuels. Pride of the North has signed a contract with the internationally operating company until the summer of 2025.
After the Office Center bankruptcy Initially FC Groningen had to look for a new main sponsor. The club has played its last three Eredivisie matches without a sponsorship on the front of the shirt.
The deal includes at least 1.2 million euros per year† In the second season (2023/2024) this amount will be increased to 1.35 million euros and a compensation of 1.5 million euros has been agreed for the last contract year (until mid-2025). These are fixed amounts, which can be further increased through performance bonuses, among other things.
The main sponsor that we will proudly wear on our chest† The relationship with OG goes back a long time, and the move to now commit to FC Groningen as main sponsor fits right in with what we understand as a club by ‘Get Bigger’, says Partnerships Director Bastiaan Fehrman.
OG is one of the fastest growing suppliers of sustainable fuels in Europe† The company currently has 225 service stations in various European countries. The ambition is to increase this number significantly in the coming years, to more than 300 refueling sites in six European countries.
