Miami, Florida – The National Hurricane Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued a public advisory at 2 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Monday September 21, 2020, due to a strong Category 2 teddy bear (95-liter invested ex-twentieth tropical depression)

Teddy is the first named 19 storm of any hurricane season in the Atlantic Ocean.

Hurricane Teddy is located 195 miles southeast of southeast Bermuda and is traveling north at a speed of 6 miles per hour (9 km / h).

NHC forecasters say that while some fluctuations in direction are likely, the tornado is expected to generally move north through Tuesday evening, followed by a turn to the northeast on Wednesday.

On the official NHC forecast route, the Teddy Center will pass East Bermuda today and then approach Nova Scotia late Tuesday or early
Wednesday.

Spaghetti models strongly agree that Teddy will follow a north-northwest direction across the Atlantic for 12 hours or so and then curve north-northeast and then northwest toward north again.

The European ECMWF (orange triangle) model, UKMET (blue square), the US GFS model (purple square), and the HWRF (pink circle) model are all tightly clustered in these projections.

Teddy is a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir Simpson scale of winds with sustained winds of maximum 105 mph (165 km / h), with higher gusts.

Some slight reinforcement is possible on Monday night as Teddy begins interacting with an approaching front system.

Although gradually weakening is expected in the middle of the week, the hurricane is expected to remain a large and powerful hurricane on Tuesday, and then become a powerful post-tropical hurricane as it approaches Nova Scotia by Wednesday morning.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center of the hurricane and tropical storm winds extend outward up to 230 miles (370 km).

The Bermuda Weather Service has issued a tropical storm warning in Bermuda.

The Tropical Storm Watch means that a tropical storm is expected within the warning area.

NOAA and Colorado State University predicted a “very active” Atlantic hurricane season for 2020 running from June 1 through November 30.
