State health officials are investigating a possible outbreak of COVID-19 at a church in Nashua. >> Download the free WMUR app Health officials said seven cases of COVID-19 have been identified in people who have attended events hosted by Gate City Church at 43 Main St. Events include a multi-day prayer session that takes place from September 19-28. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said anyone who has attended church-related events since September 19 may have been at risk and should watch for symptoms and order testing. “We know you can be. Contagious with this virus two days before any symptoms or a positive test result emerge,” DHHS Office of Infectious Disease Control Department Beth Daly said. “Therefore, it is possible that some of these individuals attended the events in the days immediately prior to the onset of symptoms and we also believe that it is possible that transmission may have occurred in this location.” >> Test sites | Free test for those without insurance The church has now moved to virtual events only.
