After a long wait, Godzilla vs. Kong in the US is finally on display. Here in the Netherlands, we have to wait a little longer for the epic MonsterVerse movie in which two movie monsters in history finally compete against each other.
But this of course does not prevent us from actually seeing what it will look like in the future. We already know which monsters will win the epic battle.
From this point on, don’t read anything else if you don’t feel spoiled.
A clear winner
Director Adam Wingard has promised us for a long time that the movie will have a clear winner. This means we need to know if King Kong or Godzilla is stronger.
The film shows several fights between monsters. The first battle ends with a checkmate, and neither of them is the true winner. At the same time, Godzilla is the owner of the best cards of the time.
The second battle is very clear for Godzilla, who clearly defeated Kong. When a third battle breaks out, Kong spreads out. The fight between the two appears to be winning, until Godzilla is finally able to defeat him. If mankind had not intervened, Kong would have died.
Also interestingly, the two have to fight together against Mechagodzilla in the final battle. The two of them know it’s easy to defeat a monster and then split. The two have their own domain and can therefore continue to live independently of each other.
In this sense, there is absolutely no winner at the end. But it was clearly Godzilla who was still able to settle all three fights in his favor.
