FINA Swimming: Dutch mixed relay team stunt with bronze | sports

This is the second medal for the Dutch swimming team in the tournament held in Hungary, after Kamenja’s silver in the 100 meters breaststroke.

At the previous World Cup, three years ago in South Korea, the mixed relay team was disqualified in the final because Toussaint had swum too long underwater.

Toussaint reached the final 50 times again in the World Cup

Kira Toussaint reached the final in the 50m backstroke at the World Longstyle Championships in Budapest. The Dutch record holder (27.10) scored the seventh time in the semi-finals with a time of 27.69 seconds. Maaike de Waard did not reach 27.77 (10th).

Earlier in the World Cup, Toussaint had already reached the final of the 100m backstroke. In it, the 28-year-old Dutchman took sixth place. The world title went to American Reagan Smith.

Canada’s Kylie Massey set the best time in the second semi-final at 27.22. Toussaint finished fourth in this race. De Ward became fifth in the first semi-final, which the 20-year-old Smith (27.29) won.

At the European Championships short course in Kazan at the end of last year, Toussaint won gold in the 50, 100 and 200 meters backstrokes.

Hungarian swimmer Milak wins the world title again with a world record

Hungarian swimmer Kristof Milak cemented his world title in the 200m butterfly in a world record. In front of his Budapest crowd, 22-year-old Milak took the gold in 1.50.34. In doing so, he was about four tenths of a second faster than he had been three years earlier at the World Cup in South Korea, when he also became the world champion in a world record (1.50.73).

American swimmer Caleb Dressel withdrew for “medical reasons” from the semi-finals of the 100 freestyle and mixed relay (individuals) final. Dressel, 25, won no fewer than five Olympic gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics last year and increased his number of world titles to 15 in recent days in Budapest. It is not known if he will return to the 50-meter-high Hungarian pool later this week.
