Compared to last year, more supermarkets will open on Christmas Day this year. This year, customers in nearly half of the country’s supermarkets are welcomed to receive a Christmas message. On Christmas Day in Nijmegen you can go to Spar in Malvert (09:00 – 20:00) and Albert Heijn at Stationsplein (8:00 – 20:00). Spar can also be visited at the gas station in Wijchenseweg throughout the day.

Most supermarkets open their doors on Boxing Day. Most of them have slightly different opening times. The Aldi in the Binnenhof keeps its doors closed on Christmas Day, just like Coop in Steenbokstraat and Lidl stores in OC Huismanstraat, Weezenhof and Spar in Anetenweg.

If you want to do your shopping in Arnhem on Christmas Day, it is best to first check online opening times of the supermarket in your area. Not all Arnhem stores are open on Christmas Day. On Boxing Day, the vast majority are.

Opening hours for supermarkets vary on Christmas Day. For example, Albert Heijn on Velperplein in Arnhem is already open at 8:00 in the morning. In the municipality of Ede, all supermarkets are closed on Christmas Day. This is also the case in Renin. Few supermarkets are open in Veenendaal.

Three supermarkets are open in Culemborg: Coop from 10am to 6pm, Albert Heijn from 9am to 7pm and Jumbo from 12pm to 6pm. Aldi, Lidl, and Plus Giel Smits are closed.

Most Albert Heijn and Jumbo branches are open on Christmas Day in Wijchen, Beuningen, Beneden-Leeuwen and Druten. Lidl and Aldi close their supermarket doors on Christmas Day. On Boxing Day, supermarkets are open in all villages, except for Beneden-Leeuwen. Only jumbo is open there.

Albert Heijn is open in Huissen, supermarkets in Bemmel and Gendt are closed on Saturdays. Supermarkets are open on Sundays.

In Cuijk Albert Heijn, Jumbo and Jan Linders are open both on Christmas and Boxing Day. Co-op, Lidl, and Aldi are closed on Saturday, but open on Sunday. The same applies to Jan Linders branches in Sint Anthonis, Wanroij, Gennep and Boxmeer.

At Stevensbeek, Spar is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sundays, the supermarket is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Boerenwinkeltje in Wanroij will only be open on Christmas Day this weekend, between 9am and 4pm.

Albert Heijn branches in Gennep and Grave are closed on Saturdays, but open on Sundays. Jumbo and Co-op in Gennep are open on Christmas and Boxing Day.
