CPUs for Gamers: Asus Plans to Go to Gamescom with Ryzen 9000X3D

There have already been rumors that AMD will launch the Ryzen 9000X3D, i.e. CPUs with extra L3 cache, along with new motherboards with the X870E and X870 chipsets. Asus is indirectly feeding into this rumor with a website.

Website reveals new motherboards for Zen 5…

Today, Asus published a microsite about its upcoming motherboards with the X870E and X870 chipsets. The first five motherboards from the new series are described there:

    • ROG Crosshair X870E Hero
    • ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi
    • TUF Gaming X870 Plus WIFI
    • ProArt X870E Creator WIFI
    • Prime X870-P WiFi

    …and refers to X3D

ComputerBase found mention of the Ryzen 9000X3D via a snippet, a sort of microsite preview. “X3D” is mentioned several times in the website’s source code and the URL also mentions the Ryzen 9000X3D, though the general text on the website only refers to the Ryzen 9000.

It is not certain that the Ryzen 9000X3D will be released alongside the new motherboards. However, it is clear that Asus planned the Ryzen 9000X3D to showcase the new motherboards. It is also possible that plans have changed in the meantime. Finally, the Ryzen 9000 also appeared a little later.

    Ryzen 9000X3D at Gamescom?

However, this revelation fuels speculation that there will be more than just information about the new X870 motherboards at Gamescom 2024. AMD has invited you to the AMD Gaming Festival 2024 at Gamescom on August 23. An introduction to the new X3D processors for gamers would be ideal at this point.
