On the night of May 21 to 22, a bear was photographed by a wildlife camera in Lech. VOL.AT spoke to the camera's owner, Bernd Fischer.

Bernd Fischer is the community representative in Lech. He is also a hunter. The game camera that captured the photo of the brown bear is in the area responsible for hunting it. He doesn't want to reveal the exact location of this camera.

“I've never seen a bear on my camera before.”

When he discovered the photo, he noticed a bear in the Lech. “I saw it tonight when I woke up,” he explains to VOL.AT. “It's a surveillance camera that sends pictures every ten minutes.” In this way, he discovered the animal by chance. “Hooey, bear,” was his first reaction. “It was something different. I'd never seen a bear on my camera before.” Fisher immediately informed the state wildlife ecologist: “I informed Hubert Schatz and then went with him,” he told VOL.AT. “We were out in the morning.”

“I think he already left again.”

He says he does not feel any insecurity. “No, not at all. I know he doesn't love me,” he says. “I'm surprised,” Fisher says. “But it's not the season for us. There aren't a lot of people out there.” It's also May holidays in Lech at the moment: “Everyone is on holiday. If of course there are a lot of mushroom hunters outside, we will think about it a little more, but basically there is no need to be afraid.” “The bear avoids people.” He is also not afraid of the bear approaching the village: “I'm afraid he has disappeared. I think he has already left again. He seems to be wandering. I don't think he will stay here with us.” “.
