For obvious reasons, koda Kodiaq is a common car with us. For equally understandable reasons, someone might want a Kodiaq that doesn’t have a neighbor. A relatively powerful and expensive solution would be the Kodiaq RS. The expressive Sportline package adds a sporty note to the result of a great off-road driver, but for those who prefer to see an all-terrain vehicle in the Kodiak, there is a powerful scout. However, there is one special version of Kodiaq that is so rare in our country that it will only be recognized on the street by an expert.

125 years ago, enterprising bohemians founded a factory of bicycles, motorcycles, and later cars in Mlada Boleslav. In 1925, it was acquired by the koda business group and renamed as what we know today – koda Auto. Kodiaq Laurin & Klement includes everything a Czech carmaker can offer, but on the outside, only the small engravings on the front wings show what’s special.

“Yes. Laurin & Klement won’t have big bumpers and brutality or special liners. There won’t be bright colors either. The essence of this collection is subtle and delicate elegance,” says Normonds Avotich.

In fact, the exclusive Kodiaq has a different design of bumpers, a chrome radiator grille and 19-inch wheels that the other “tows” don’t have. However, what really sets L&K apart not only from other Kodiak but also other Škodas is the salon.

Laurin & Klement has never been one of the cheapest, and the question arises, what should I pay for – these two engravings? of course not. The main benefit is the salon. Can’t show it, but the smell speaks for itself – genuine leather is used here, and these seats are not available on any other Kodiaq range.

It can be black or beige, and either way the back will be embroidered with the Laurin & Klement logo.

“And what else I want to emphasize – this is the first Kodiaq where I meet the angle of the new design. With two speakers, like the new Octavia. And see how elegantly the Laurin & Klement inscription is included in the corner!”

And this is not all. The spare wheels are no less neatly integrated into the subwoofer for the Canton audio system, and in the multimedia device – the factory navigation. Apple Car Play connects wirelessly. Everything is heated, including the steering wheel, windshield and rear seats. When maneuvering in the surroundings, 360-degree cameras are observed, but while driving – a group of drivers’ assistants.

If this set is so elegant indeed, and it really is, why is it so rare? The thing is, L&K has always been pricey, regardless of the base model. In Germany, for example, the Kodiaq costs at least € 45,000 without additional equipment. we are lucky. With front-wheel drive and a petrol engine, the L&K costs just over € 32,000. In contrast, with a diesel and 4 × 4 such a car – 37,000 euros. In comparison, for that money, you can get a VW Tiguan R-Line, but only with a small gasoline engine and towing front.
