Football | Liverpool receives a large fine after players intimidated the referee in the Manchester City match

The official FA statement read: “Liverpool were fined £37,500 after players surrounded the referee during the 34th minute of the Premier League match against Manchester City on April 1, 2023.”

According to the FA, Liverpool admitted failing to make their players behave in an appropriate manner. The total fines imposed on Virgil van Dijk's club, among others, is £92,500 for this season. Among other things, a £25,000 fine after the Merseyside derby against Everton in February and a £30,000 fine (and match ban) for coach Jurgen Klopp for shouting at the fourth official were discussed.
