Indoor football DNA passed from father John to son Sander: “I really look up to him as a son and as a futsal player” | Regional sports

It seemed like a real exodus at the end of last season among the futsal players of BE’79. Many players and staff left after years of success. However, the follow-up is already ready. With young team manager Sander Adriansen as an impressive debutant.

At the age of nineteen, he immediately took up a responsible job at Premier League side Berkel-Inschot. Adriaansen has inherited one hundred percent of his father John’s futsal DNA. He does not run away from his responsibilities. “I’ve been hanging around here for several years, partly because of my dad,” Adriansen Jr. says excitedly. “At first I went to BE’79 just as a fan, sometimes on the bus or in the car with my parents.”

Since he was always there, a few years ago he was asked to do something for the club. “That’s how I ended up on the bench. When my predecessor Leo Gremelius resigned as team manager at the end of last season, I was able to take over his duties. I have a lot of love for the sport and the club, so I’m happy I can make my contribution.

phenomenon

Father John was an indoor football phenomenon who not only showed supernatural talents as a player but also became a national champion with FC Eindhoven in 2010 as a coach. Adriaansen Junior grew up from an early age looking up to his father, not only as a son, but also as an indoor soccer player. “I certainly couldn’t have done it without him. He is my source of information, my support, my refuge. I can ask him any questions I have. After all, he knows everything about this.”

For example, Khaled El-Baz came into the picture as the new coach at ‘t Ruiven gym when Jeroen Hakins announced his retirement. Adriansen: “We ended up with Khaled partly because of my father’s network and other people within the club. A very experienced coach who was also the national coach of the Dutch police team.

magnet

Futsal has always attracted Adriansen like a high-voltage magnet. As a young player, he naturally played football with FC Jong Brabant in his hometown of Berkel-Inschot. “I’ve played on the field for a long time and I still enjoy watching it every now and then. I wouldn’t rule out this being something in the future, but for now I’ll stick to futsal. It’s a big challenge I’m looking forward to.”

When BE’79 kick off in Horn tonight in their opener against HV Veerhuys, the goals will be the same as last season. A place in the top eight, meaning they could start in the tournament at the start of January. Adriansen: “It won’t always be easy, but we know what our limits are. I’m confident that with the right motivation we can repeat our performance from last year.
