World Darts Championship finals schedule: Humphreys, Van Gerwen, Aspinall and Wright battle it out for the title in Amsterdam on Sunday evening

Richard Powell, September 17, 2023

Sunday evening is the final of the World Darts Championships at AFAS Live in Amsterdam. Four other men are competing for the title and will decide in the semi-finals and subsequent final who emerges with overall victory.

Of the four semi-finalists, Michael van Gerwen is the only player to have actually won the tournament. Mighty Mike was the best in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. It was his last World Championship Finals title for some time. After tough victories over William O’Connor (6-4) and Dimitri van den Berg (10-8), Luke Humphries became the opponent in the semifinals. The Englishman won his previous two matches over Krzysztof Ratajski (6-3) and Rob Cross (10-2).

The other semi-final will be between Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright. Aspinall eliminated Danny Nobert (6-3) and Keegan Brown (10-5), while Wright defeated Hubai Buha (6-4) and Raymond van Barneveld (10-6). Wright had already reached the World Championship finals in 2015 and 2016, but faced Van Gerwen each time.

Where can I watch the World Darts Championship Finals live?

The entire tournament will be broadcast via Viaplay. The three evening programs begin shortly before 7 p.m. The broadcast begins Sunday afternoon at 12:40.

How much prize money can be won?

The event has a prize pool of £300,000. However, prize money won does not count towards the PDC Order of Merit or any other cash rankings.

All participants are guaranteed a cash prize of £5,000. This amount could eventually rise to £70,000 prize money for the winner.
