Triumph is recalling the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 because a clogged hose can cause the engine to stall.

Triumph must recall 7,541 units of the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 in the US. This is because the manifold of the MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) hose can become clogged, inevitably resulting in incorrect air pressure readings from the MAP sensor.

Result: The electronic control unit (ECU) adjusts the air-to-fuel ratio based on incorrect data, causing the engine to stall. This in turn leads to an increased risk of accidents. In our country, this does not automatically mean that the manufacturer has to recall potentially affected products. But in the United States, the law differs on this point.

    The models being recalled are model years 2022 – 2024, more specifically: Triumph Trident 660 produced between January 6, 2021 and July 27, 2023 (SMTL10UL5NTAE9988 – SMTL10UL8RTBP8186) and Tiger Sport 660 produced between August 3, 2021 and August 4, 2023 (SMTL20UL6 NTAV523). 5 – SMTL20UL2RTBP8617).

Dealers will replace the hose on recalled models for free. Notification letters were recently sent to owners in the United States. It is very likely that the issue will also affect Triumph models in Europe.
