Heavy noise from helicopters over Rotifali, Eastermare, Drogham, Hotigig, Ubandi and surrounding villages. The lights in the sky flashed red and white. Seven o’clock Wednesday evening. More than 25 military helicopters from the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and the United States flew to Friesland from the south at low altitude. They “secretly” shot down 350 soldiers in the meadows north and east of Drachten.

The international exercise Falcon Orif, which lasts for ten days in the eastern provinces of the Netherlands, has now arrived in Frisian territory. From four landing points in the open green zone, the downed soldiers have to approach Drachten airfield on foot at night from Wednesday to Thursday. In the dark they travel 10 kilometers, partly invisible, Thursday morning when the light comes to start fighting (the so-called) on the airstrip.
