The 29-year-old midfielder collapsed in June of this year after suffering a cardiac arrest. It happened while he was playing for the Danish national team against Finland during the European Championship. He underwent a defibrillator implantation the following week to prevent future heart failure.

At the time, it was questionable whether Eriksen would ever play football again, but he recovered quickly. However, due to his pacemaker, he is no longer allowed to play in the Italian professional league, which has strict rules about professional sports with a heart condition.

Earlier this month, Eriksen was seen at a training session for his old Danish club Odense. Earlier this week, there were rumors of a termination of the contract with Inter Milan. On Friday, the club announced the termination of the contract with Eriksen by mutual consent.

This appears to be a first step towards resuming the professional career of Eriksen, who played in the Netherlands for Ajax from 2010 to 2013. In many countries, there are no rules prohibiting playing football with a pacemaker. Eriksen himself did not comment on this.

In a message on Twitter, Inter are showing their gratitude to the Dane. In it, the club calls Eriksen “forever white and blue”, the colors of the Milan club. In a statement, the club wished him “all the best for the future”.
