Dutch water polo players failed to reach the final of the World Championships in Budapest. The team of the Greek national coach Evangelos Dodsis lost in the semi-finals of Hungary, playing in front of his own fans, 12-13. The Netherlands, who convincingly beat Greece in the quarter-finals, can still win the bronze medal.

Orange started the match well and advanced 3-2 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hungarians tied 6-6, in part because the Netherlands were more difficult defensively. However, garrison Laura Arts managed to distinguish herself several times. You will continue to do so until the end of the match. And certainly not for the first time in the tournament.

Hungary, backed in its outdoor pool by die-hard followers, was also stronger in the third quarter. However, at that point, the Netherlands limited the damage to a deficit of 10-11, in part thanks to two goals from Bente Rouge.

Mainly due to the production of Simon van de Karas, the Dutch formation reached the same level in the final stage at 12-12. After that, Hungary ran out again and at 12-13, behind the Orange team’s all-or-nothing attack, yielded nothing.

The United States, the defending champions and Olympics, won the other semi-final match against Italy, 14-6. Orange lost to the favorite in the group stage.
