Storm Arwen has caused a lot of inconvenience in the UK. Tens of thousands of homes and businesses in Scotland and northern England were left without power. At least two people were killed, according to British media, due to falling trees.
Arwen was accompanied by strong winds, rain and snowfall since yesterday afternoon. The authorities had warned the British to issue a rare red symbol. This means severe, life-threatening weather is approaching. This code went red according to Sky News Saturday morning, but Britons are still advised to travel only when absolutely necessary.

Drivers traveling on the road also encountered inconvenience. Police say 120 trucks are “stuck in ice” on the M62 motorway across England. In the British media, images circulate of torn rooftops, roads blocked by trees and other debris, like a large trampoline lying upside down on a street.
The two victims died as a result of two different accidents. A tree fell on a car in Antrim, Northern Ireland, killing a school principal. A Lancaster man was hit by a tree in Ambleside, England. Police said he died on the spot. And in Aberdeenshire, also Scotland, a 35-year-old motorist was killed when a tree fell on his car.
