Max Verstappen (Red Bull) has emerged as the most popular driver in Formula 1 in a global poll.
The current leader in the World Cup standings received 14.4 percent of all votes cast. Lando Norris (McLaren) came second with 13.7 per cent, and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) finished a little third.

167,000 fans from 187 countries took part in the survey, with an average age of 32. Verstappen received the most votes in the 25-34 age group and can count on support from all over the world.

The 21-year-old Norris, still waiting for his first Grand Prix victory, got the most votes among fans. Briton Hamilton was the most popular driver in his country and earned the most recognition from older fans (over 45 years old) around the world.
McLaren emerged as the favorite Formula 1 team in the poll, followed by Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes.
