After distributing points to the professional jury, Belgium ranked thirteenth with 71 points. 3 more viewership points were added, bringing Hooverphonic to a total of 74 points. Result: nineteenth place.
Embarrassing for the Big Five, the five countries that sponsor the most money and therefore go straight to the final: three of them finished 0 points from viewers: the UK, Spain and Germany. The United Kingdom was also the only country to receive no jury points. So James Newman has to go home with a sad zero.
