New Blues defender sends a message to Lampard
Thiago Silva isn’t interested in treating his Chelsea season as an opportunity to explore London’s tourist spots.
The Brazilian defender – who joined the Blues on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer – is looking to add an English trophy to a cupboard containing twenty major trophies from Italy and France and internationally.
Chelsea president Frank Lampard has praised Silva for his leadership skills.

Despite his mistake in last week’s draw against West Bromwich Albion, a serial winner was noticed in the locker room.
“I think it is true that I have a lot to offer in this regard,” Silva said in today’s match program for the match against Crystal Palace “Until I had the opportunity to share the field with my new coach when we played each other at the Maracana in 2013.
